Sokoto Approves N88m to Feed Less Privileged during Ramadan

The Sokoto State Government has approved the sum of N88 million to cater for the less privileged persons during the forthcoming Ramadan fast in the state.
Speaking at a news briefing in Sokoto Wednesday, the state Commissioner for Social Welfare, Alhaji Sirajo Gatawa, said the gesture is aimed at providing free feeding for the less privileged persons during the Ramadan.
According to him, the move is meant to enable the indigent break their fast with ease during the Ramadan.
Gatawa stated that over N53 million had been expended within the last two years on the welfare of the less privileged persons across the state.
He said this included the provision of clothes, food items, as well as token gifts to make them have a sense of belonging.
