Amai Sec. School, others for Semis

ZENITH /DELTA STATE PRINCIPAL’S CUP

Four secondary school teams have qualified for the semifinal in the ongoing Principals’ Cup football competition for Secondary Schools in Delta State sponsored by Zenith Bank.

The schools are Idjerhe Grammar school, Amai secondary school, Master Care Int’l Sch Asaba and Ogbe-Ijaw Grammar school.

In the quarterfinals, Idjerhe Grammar School defeated Jedo Secondary School 3-1, Amai Secondary School beat Igbuku Secondary School by 5-3 via penalties while Ogbe-Ijaw Grammar school also pipped Udu Secondary School. Otor-Udu 2-1.
Master Care International Secondary School also booked a semifinal ticket courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Reverend Martins Memorials Secondary School Issele-Uku.

The organisers of the event, Hideaplux Limited, Warri, on Thursday said the quarterfinal matches were interesting and keenly contested by all the eight teams.

CEO of the outfit, Tony Pemu, said the competition had been great one for the youths of the state
“It has been a fantastic competition and I expect the last four matches to be more interesting for the players and football fans in the state,” Pemu said.

For the semifinals, Idjerhe Grammar school will meet Ogbe-Ijaw Grammar school in Sapele Stadium on Monday (May 15) while Amai secondary school will meet Master Care International School In Agbor Stadium on Tuesday (May 16).

The final of the rejuvenated competition is scheduled for May 20 at the Utra Modern Stadium in Ozoro.
