ICAN Confers  Fellow on THISDAY Staff

The Controller of Internal Audit, THISDAY Newspapers Limited, Mr. Nduka Moseri, has been conferred with  Fellow, Chartered Accountant (FCA) by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

The elated Moseri, while speaking at the 15th edition of the fellowship investiture ceremony which took place in Lagos, said his dreams of rising to the peak in the accountancy profession has been achieved with the conferment of FCA.

He added that he worked diligently to ensure that he met the criteria set by ICAN in financial reporting and compliance in line with international best practice.

The controller noted that the impacts of the accountancy practitioners in Nigeria have been felt both in the public and private sectors respectively, stressing that the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, who is also a fellow of the institute, is contributing her quota in repositioning the economy.

Moseri who vowed not to rest on his oars, also enjoined practitioners to be involved in adding value to the profession as well as be accountable wherever they find themselves, while referring to the biblical saying: “Cast  your bread upon the waters, for you shall find it after many days.”

It was gathered that ICAN only confers members with this highest status based on proven integrity, post qualification experience, updates in the financial reporting skill, ethical compliance and technical competence as required by the International Federation of Accountant (IFAC) which ICAN is a member.
