Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries (MFM) FC Head Coach, Fidelis IIechukwu, has commended Plateau United’s performance in their Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) clash yesterday.
The Olukoya Boys defeated the Jos Elephants 2-1 in Sunday’s NPFL Match-day 14 clash at the Agege Township Stadium in Lagos.
The win against the Jos side takes MFM FC’s total earning to 24, one behind leaders Plateau United with a match in hand against Rivers United.
A brace from 10-goal talisman Stephen Odey guaranteed the Lagos outfit the maximum points while Joshua Obaje scored the consolation for the Tin City side.
IIechukwu said he will continue to field his talisman as far as he is fit and healthy for matches.
“Yes, we expected the tough challenge from Plateau United, they are good side with a quality coach in Kennedy Boboye.
“I’m excited we were able to amass the three points at stake in the clash at the expense of Plateau United.
“The victory is quite crucial on our dreamed plot to take over the leadership of the top-flight.
“The win has got us quite close and I believe by the time we are done with the outstanding match we would have collected the necessary point(s) to see us climb to the top.
“Of course, Stephen Odey has been a blessing to the team and a worry to the opponents in the top-flight.
“Yes, we will continue to field him together with other fearsome strikers while we look forward to get more of those qualities in the near future,” said IIechukwu to supersport.com.
