South Africa Football Association (SAFA) President Danny Jordaan has withdrawn his candidature to be a FIFA council member in the forthcoming polls.

In the latest dispatch to federations from CAF ahead of the elections, it was listed that Danny Jordan, Chabur Goc and Kalusha Bwalya were the three candidates that has withdrawn.

“Following communications from FIFA tuesday please note that the FIFA governance committee, in conformity with article 27.5 d)of the governance regulation and following the eligibility checks conducted, confirm the eligibility of the following candidates,” the letter from CAF read in Part.

The seat was being contested by three candidates; Kalusha Bwalya, Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi and Danny Jordan.

The new development leave Issa Hayatou, Ahmad Ahmad, Constant Omani, Lydia Nsekera, Kwesi Nyantakyi, Leodegar Tenga, Almamy Kabele,Hany Abo Rida,Tarek Bouchamaoui and Sidy Dialo as the only candidates for various FIFA elective seats from Africa.
