For eleven consecutive years running, the Gunn Report for Media has named Omnicom Media Group’s Agency OMD the most creative, innovative and effective global agency network.
The Gunn Report for Media is the industry standard for evaluating media creativity, innovation and effectiveness. The report summarizes media agencies’ overall performance from January to December 2016 based on the results of global, regional and national Media creative award contests spanning over 40 markets in the world. Most importantly, it recognizes the vital role media agencies play in today’s highly competitive and fragmented media landscape.
OMD tops the list of other global media players based on awards won in more than 50 annual award competitions worldwide. In addition to OMD leading the list with 632 points, PHD (again an Omnicom Media Group) ranked No 3, moving up 1 rank with 476 points. OMD and PHDs top ranking reflects recognition earned in 2016 by agencies in every region across its network.
Other players that made the first ten list include Starcom and MediaVest with 537 points, Mindshare 445 points, Mediacom 329 points and UM with 320 points. Others were Carat 212points, MEC with 179, Zenith and Blue 449 which scored 173 points while Havas Media scored 156 points.
In Nigeria OMD trades under mediaReach OMD which is the leading Media Agency with a market share of 24.8%, as per the latest report published by RECMA in June 2015. Like its parent company, mediaReach OMD tops other players in the industry. As at date, it remains the only media agency to represent Nigeria six consecutive times at the Cannes for Young Lions Media.
