Medview Aborts Flight over Malfunctioning Cooling System

A Lagos-Abuja-Yola bound flight operated by Medview Airline was aborted tuesday after the pilot noticed during take off that the cooling system had stopped working.

It was gathered that the aircraft, which had 100 passengers and crew on board, was still taxiing on the runway of the domestic wing of the Lagos airport when the pilot noticed that the cabin had become hot.

Speaking in an interview, the media consultant to the airline, Mr. Obuke Oyibotha, who confirmed the incident, explained: “The incident happened around midday. The aircraft did not make an air return. The aircraft was taxiing when the captain noticed that the cabin was hot.

“If he had taken off, it could have stabilised the cooling system but as a precautionary measure, he taxied back to base.

“That was what happened and nobody was hurt. The said aircraft is on the ground and our team of engineers is examining the aircraft to ascertain what led to it.
“The passengers were disembarked and transferred to another aircraft to continue their journey to Abuja.”
