Oguntuase: We'll Resist Attempts to Hijack PDP

By Victor Ogunje

The factional Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Mr. Gboyega Oguntuase, on Monday vowed that committed members of the party will resist any attempt by Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff and other ‘co-conspirators’ to hijack the party via legal technicality.

Oguntuase said Sheriff belongs to a minority group with no national spread in the PDP to win any election, describing the Ahmed Makarfi’s group as the true face of the party with national outlook that could withstand and even surpass the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking in Ado Ekiti on Monday, he described the current bedlam in PDP as a passing phase that would eventually rejuvenate the party’s strength and make it more formidable for future polls.

The PDP boss added that it would be foolhardy for the APC to start rejoicing over the factional crisis dogging the party in Ekiti and at the national levels, saying the opposition party has nothing to campaign in 2018, with records of huge debt burden allegedly left behind by ex-Governor Kayode Fayemi.
