Mimiko Solicits Support for Akeredolu

The outgoing Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, yesterday enjoined the people of the state to support the incoming governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, who will be sworn in today.

Mimiko made the call in his farewell speech to the people of the state aired on the state radio stations.
The outgoing governor read out some of the achievements of his administration in the last eight years.
He said in line with his promise he made to the people to work for them during inauguration, he had been able to touch lives in various sectors of the state.

“Today, eight years on, by the special grace of the Almighty God, Ondo State has not only done well, it has indeed become a benchmark across the globe in several of our well-conceived and well-delivered
programs,” he said.

Specifically, Mimiko highlighted some of those things the outgoing administration had been able to achieve in the areas of education, health, urban renewal, infrastructural development and in tourism sectors.
He said those achievements were pursued and accomplished in line with the acronym ‘A Caring Heart’.

Mimiko said one of the most important achievements of his administration is the fact that the state had been made to be most peaceful in the Niger Delta.
