The Chief of Field Office, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Sokoto Field Office, Mr. Mohammad Mohiuddun, on Thursday expressed concern over the low immunisation coverage in Sokoto State.
Mohiuddun made this known during a a meeting with members of Journalists Against Polio in Sokoto.
He said that the immunisation coverage in Sokoto was less than five per cent as compared to the national average of 30 per cent.
He attributed the problem to lack of awareness on available health care services for vaccine preventable diseases.
