Our Politicians Fail to Plan for Future, Says Obi

Onyebuchi Ezigbo in Abuja

A former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has flayed the inability of most Nigerian politicians to use the opportunity of being in government to implement policies and programmes that will lead to a better tomorrow.

Obi, who bemoaned the current predicament the country is facing, suggested a special intervention in the education sector as a means of retooling the economy to make it recover from its current weak state.

Speaking during a visit to a school in Abuja, the BrickHall Model School owned by a former federal legislator, Senator Joy Emordi, the former governor regretted that most politicians are always thinking about positions and posts rather than how they can use such opportunity to solve the problem of under-development plaguing the nation.
