Bauchi to Revive Moribund Fertiliser Blending Company

By Segun Awofadeji in Bauchi
The Bauchi State government on Monday said that it will soon revive its fertiliser blending company so as to make the commodity available to farmers in the state and beyond.
Speaking during a tour of the company in Bauchi, the newly appointed chairman‎ of the firm, Bappah Aliyu Musa, promised to make it profitable.
He lamented that despite the huge amount spent by previous governments, machineries and raw materials are allowed to be wasting away at the premises of the company for over seven years, adding that ‎the company had been moribund and grossly underutilised due to a deliberate neglect.
He said that the Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar-led administration as a result of its commitment to key into the President Muhammadu Buhari’s agricultural revival effort, has focused on ways to develop the sector in Bauchi State.
