Arewa Youth: Boko Haram Fight Lingers Due to Financial, Political Support from Sympathisers

By ‎Adedayo Akinwale in Abuja
The Arewa Youth Leaders Forum (AYLF) has lamented that ‎the fight against Boko Haram insurgents has continued to linger because of the political and financial support they get from their sympathisers.
It also accused stakeholders in the North-east of deliberately sabotaging the federal government’s efforts at restoring peace to the region for personal gains.
The National President of the group, Adamu Adamu, made this known while addressing journalists in Abuja on Wednesday.
He stated that the military and the relevant security agencies should get the marching order to expand the scope of operations in the North-east to include the identification, investigation, arrest and prosecution of sponsors and beneficiaries of Boko Haram’s violent acts.
