LOVE GAVE THEM A SECOND CHANCE

After heartbreak, some say, comes true love. Sometimes it takes more than a first kiss to live happily ever after. Many times, a kiss on the first frog hardly turns out to be the true Prince; even when he has all the charming and endearment of a true love. However, the result is not always what we anticipate when put to the test. Given the jarring pains of heartache that accompanies a failed relationship, some choose to permanently relegate love as an illusion, while others are bold enough to take a second shot at love. Just when hope of finding true love seems like a mirage, Cupid takes a perfect aim that leads to that relationship that holds true happiness. For these couples, love is a risk worth a second or more chances.

Usually, there is an irresistible presence of a basket full of sunshine to chase away the gloomy scars of heartbreak. As Valentine’s Day draws near, Nseobong Okon-Ekong and Vanessa Obioha chronicle 10 couples who, like the phoenix, rose from the ashes of a broken heart or a terrible loss to find a life filled with true love

Previously married to Super Eagles defender, Chikelue Illoanusi, model, Nollywood actress and producer Stephanie Okereke- Linus finally found her missing rib in Linus Idahosa. If there was one thing Stephanie was so sure she wanted in life, it was her acting career. She revealed this at many meetings with the media. Perhaps, there was a lingering feeling too to have a fairytale wedding. Not too long after, there were visible cracks in her three-year marriage to Illoanusi. The split was ugly. For a while, it seemed the rumour could not have enough of the messy details. Each day welcomed a new dirty linen of their private lives, clinically laundered by the media.

But all that changed in 2010 when Linus Idahosa, an international media mogul proposed to her. Ituah Ighodalo: Love Cost a Thing
February is more than the second month of the year to the Ighodalos. It is the month they found love. Coincidentally, they found love in the month of love. Indeed, love smiled again on the savvy pastor of Trinity House, Ituah Ighodalo, 10 years ago when he took the bold step of walking former Lux soap beauty queen, Ibidunni, down the aisle.

It was his second attempt at marriage. Their love tale is one plotted around rejection. Ighodalo was formerly married to Lucy Ann-Summer during his sojourn in United States of America. When he met Summer, it was believed that their union was a product of love. However, it turned out that it was all a veneer, for as soon as Ighodalo boarded the next flight to his home country, the love also took flight out of the window. Nursing himself back to life, Ituah opened his heart to love again. But this love cost him quite a bit. It cost him a family.

After being remarried for two-and-a-half years, Ighodalo was asked to leave the Christ Church Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God that he was famed to have nurtured. The news of his sack made headlines. Society magazines fed on it with relish. However, all that is in the past as Ighodalo has found his one true love, Ibidunni.
