Gunmen in the early hours of Friday attacked a police station in Eika, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, killed the two policemen on duty and a detainee in police custody, burned down the police station and also killed a community leader, Mallam Sadiq Obomi.
THISDAY gathered that the gunmen numbering 10 invaded the community at about 1am Friday shooting sporadically as they headed for the police station.
An eyewitness, who is a civilian security man, who claimed anonymity, told THISDAY that the gunmen came in two vehicles.
