Ahead of the Ekiti State governorship poll in 2018, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders’ Forum has appealed to aspirants to conduct themselves with utmost decorum, abide by the party’s constitution and shun desperate and uncouth statements.
The elders said the body would not support any aspirant, who after winning, would abandon them as witnessed in the past, lamenting that their members were being betrayed by party candidates after getting their support.
The chairman of the Forum, Chief George Akosile, spoke in Igbara Odo Ekiti in Ekiti South West Local Government Area of Ekiti State Friday while playing host to a former member of the House of Representatives and governorship aspirant, Hon Bamidele Faparusi.
Faparusi , who visited the elders in furtherance of his aspiration, opened the issue of zoning of the governorship ticket to the south senatorial district, which the elders described as a legitimate right.
