With the commencement of the All Progressives Congress (APC) membership registration/revalidation exercise in Anambra State, some political bigwigs touted to be interested in vying for the party’s ticket for the governorship polls expected to hold in November have successfully been registered by the Chris Akomas led Anambra APC registration/revalidation committee.

The exercise which was flagged off on Friday, January 27, 2017, commenced with the registration of stakeholders by the panel.

Eminent personalities like Dr. Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Engr. Bart Nwibe, Chief George Moghalu, Dr. Obinna Uzoh, Hon. Tony Nwoye and Senator Andy Uba were formally registered as members of the APC in their different wards across the state. Ngige, the leader of the party in the state had his membership revalidated by the committee when they called upon him at his Alor Country home.

It was the same story with Chief George Moghalu, the current National Auditor of the party and a gubernatorial hopeful. Moghalu had his membership revalidated in his Uruagu Nnewi ward having been a long standing member of the party. Another governorship aspirant of the party, Bart Nwibe’s membership was revalidated in his Igboukwu ward yesterday at about 2. 15 PM.

The exercise however confirmed the stories making the rounds that Senator Andy Uba, a sitting senator who had won his election on the platform of the PDP was set to cross over to the APC. Prior to his registration which took place at exactly 9 a.m on the 28th of January 2017, there were speculations that the senator was set to dump his old party for the APC in order to enable him contest for the party’s ticket. The process continues till the end of this month.
