Academix.ng Opens Access to Products with E-Library Card

Foremost E-Library service provider, www.academix.ng,has launched an e-library card to improve and give users access to its contents.

The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Engineer Iso Bassey, explained that the initiative was to accommodate millions of students and lecturers of tertiary institutions without access to e-Library services.

According to him, the card denominated in N500, N1,000 and N2,000 provide access for 14, 30 and 90days respectively were now on sale in all tertiary institutions across the country,  starting with the South-South region.

“The e-Library cards operate in a similar manner to mobile phone recharge cards. Each card has a unique serial number and PIN number. PIN numbers are used to activate access. We found it necessary to innovate in this direction to translate our service from being abstract, hanging in the cloud to a tangible platform those users can relate with through physical cards,” Bassey noted.

Also commenting on the innovation, Chairman of the company, Mr. Chris Uwaje stated that “by this action, Academix is now acknowledged as the prime leader in the Innovation and e-Knowledge domain. The assurances given by the company demonstrates that through technology, Nigerian and African Youths will now have unhindered access to quality research materials for global competitiveness.

“The beauty of this knowledge access to e-Library research works is the multiplier effect it will create as a critical accelerator for youth engagement, innovation, entrepreneurship and employment” .

The company was established in 2015 to meet a growing demand for African focused knowledge. It aggregates and hosts multidisciplinary, Africa focused research while also featuring journals, research papers, theses, dissertations and reports. The portal currently hosts over 108,000 research items and provides a gateway to over 20 million well researched materials.
