He said: “I am so excited because it is not easy for somebody to have spent as much as 30 years in a place, it is a wonderful privilege. I joined Nigerite on 19th of May 1986 with School Certificate and Teachers’ Training College certificate. As at then, we were encouraged to develop ourselves, so I started with my first degree which I acquired through a part-time programme at the Ambrose Alli University, where I studied and bagged a BSc degree in Business Administration. After that, I went for the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, today I’m chartered. In year 2010, I proceeded to Ladoke Akintola University and had my MBA in Marketing. Nigerite has thought me the importance of inter-personal relation because in Nigerite, we see ourselves as one family. That has really thought me a lot about life and how to relate with people. I have had the cooperation of my colleagues, the factory manager, the CEO and other officers”. The store officer, who won the most rated award at the ceremony, urged today’s youths to always be patient, dedicated and truthful in whatever they do.

Another beneficiary of the initiative, who has spent 15 years working with Nigerite, Mrs. Victoria Adeyemi, an Application Software Programmer, believes that making Jesus Christ her role model and foundation made the journeys easy for her. “As a Christian, I believe Jesus Christ has been the bedrock of my success in the company. Though there have been challenges but I always remember my secondary school Mathematics teacher, who was fond of saying ‘If you run away from a challenge, you don’t know which one is ahead, so stay put and solve whatever problem you encounter. The recognition has proved to me that all my contribution and personal sacrifices to make sure the company grows are not in vain. I leave home early faced with road traffic on daily basis and return home late. I’m delighted that all those sacrifices are now being recognized and noticed.”. She advised those coming behind to discover themselves and add value wherever they are as well as stay focused to get to the top.
