The estranged Deputy National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has criticized the latest romance of the National chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun with Senate President Bukola Saraki.

He described it as a fruitless exercise.

Frank also said that Oyegun’s acceptance that there is crisis in the party is enough reason for him to resign for helping to precipitate it.

Oyegun had invited Bukola Saraki to APC National Secretariat on Wednesday for the first time since his emergence as Senate President after 18 months.

In a statement issued on Thursday , Frank asked the National Chairman to convene a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting where all the leaders will sit at a round-table and tell themselves the truth.

Frank urged the Senate President to be careful and watch his back in the latest moves so as not to lose the confidence of some Nigerians and party members who believed in him when the likes of Oyegun did not.

“So, I believe that this party urgently needs a new National Chairman that will set up a strong reconciliation committee to correct all the abnormalities Oyegun did to APC.

“Until this is done, the ongoing re-alignment which I warned my party about might take advantage of the current crisis in APC and weaken it ahead of future elections,” Frank said.

At the meeting, the National Chairman agreed that some of the first steps taken by his leadership created problems going on in the party today.

Frank said: “It is a shame for Chief Oyegun to go back to his vommit having been used to create some of these confusions earlier which are now beyond his capacity to redeem.”
