What is Mohammed Indimi, an oil magnate, and boss of Oriental Energy looking for this time around?
This is the question being asked in some quarters since the news broke that his son, Ahmed, is having a sizzling romance with beautiful Zhara, daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Since the emergence of her father as Nigeria’s President in 2015, all eyes have been on Zahra, who has been dogged by several controversies. Apart from her alleged reckless lifestyle, she has also been allegedly romantically linked with several state governors in the past.
But even in the face of this romantic tale, one is tempted to dig into the personae of Alhaji Indimi, the father of the young man whom Zhara has reportedly given her heart for keep. He is a family man, with about four wives and many children. He has many notable families as in-laws, including the Dantatas, the Dalhatus, the Mallamis and the Babangidas.
The Borno State born businessman, considered one of the richest in the country got the oil license that catapulted him into the league of billionaires in the country when the former was the military President.
It will be recalled that the late Military ruler, Gen. Sanni Abacha and ex-Vice President, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, had rebuffed attempts by him to be their in-law. While Mrs. Abacha reportedly rejected Rahama Indimi as wife to her son, Mohammed, Atiku stopped the marriage proposal between his son, Adamu and Ameena, a.k.a. Ya Kaka.
Now, Indimi’s strategy to constantly remain relevant, as it is alleged by some observers, is paying off, as his handsome son is planning to marry one of the daughters of the number one citizen in Nigeria.
Expectedly, news like this calls for celebration, especially among friends and family, but the proposed wedding has also generated some questions, albeit in huºshed tones.
