Police Commission Warns Applicants of Recruitment Fraudsters

The Police Service Commission (PSC) yesterday warned applicants of activities of fraudsters who parade themselves as recruitment agents for the ongoing 10, 000 vacancies available within the Force.

While disassociating itself from the activities of the fraudsters who have activated  a fake Facebook account for the Chairman of the commission, Mr. Mike Okiro, to dupe unsuspecting applicants on the ongoing recruitment.

In a statement made available to the media in Abuja, the commission warned the fraudster to desist from such practice or face the full weight of the law.

The statement read: “The commission yesterday discovered that new face book accounts of its chairman had resurfaced several months after it had threatened to arrest and prosecute the brains behind such exercise in the past.”

It said the  fraudsters are said to be using the account to demand for payments as guarantee for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force, stressing that the commission wishes to state that its chairman has no official or private face book account and has never operated one.

According to the statement, applicants for police recruitment are advised to ignore the fraudsters and report any such incident to the nearest police station.

“The commission warns that perpetrators will soon be rounded up and death with in accordance with the law, adding that it will remain resolute in its decision to ensure  that the recruitment exercise is concluded without blemish.

“The commission has since ensured that the exercise is transparent, merit driven and based on established criteria.”
