Uber Announces 50% Discount on All Rides in Lagos

Uber Nigeria from the November 3 offered a 50 per cent discount on trips for all riders in Lagos. The 50 per cent off campaign, which ends tomorrow, Saturday November 13, is aimed to reward loyal riders in Lagos who have made Uber their preferred choice of transportation.

The General Manager, Uber West Africa, Ebi Atawodi, said ‘’Lagos has always been a key city in Nigeria and Africa. We are always looking at innovative ways to celebrate riders, drivers and cities and we thought it was only fitting, as we come closer to the end of the year celebrations, that we reward our loyal riders with a 50 per cent discount promotion. Giving riders a more affordable option to move around their city, and drivers an increase in demand for trips.’’

To partake in this promotion, riders do not need to do anything, as Uber will be creating an auto-apply discount code that will ensure that rides taken throughout the campaign are automatically discounted. So, open the app any time and request a ride, a driver will be curbside in minutes.

For those concerned about the impact on their partner’s personal income – there is no need to worry; Uber is covering this promotion. Driver-partners can expect more demand from fare paying passengers and less time spent idle waiting for rides. So, pull out your calendars and start scheduling your end of year parties and festive celebrations – and make sure to use Uber wherever it is you’re going. Uber will take you there in safely, reliably and at 50 per cent of the original price.

Uber’s mission is to help people get a ride at the push of a button – everywhere and for everyone. They started in 2009 to solve a simple problem – how do you get a ride at the touch of a button? Six years and over two billion trips later, we’ve started tackling an even greater challenge: reducing congestion and pollution in our cities by getting more people into fewer cars. The Uber network is now available in over 450 cities in over 72 countries spanning six continents. To request a ride, users must download the free application for Android, iPhone, Blackberry 7, or register for Uber at www.uber.com/go or visitwww.uber.com for more clarifications.
