Solidarity visits to the former aides of former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Senator Bala Mohammed, Dr. Reuben Abati, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode and Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja is growing by the day with notable Nigerians assuring them that they would be vindicated in the end.
Joining the fast growing list of dignitaries that have visited the four politicians who have been in the EFCC net yesterday were former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Jeremiah Useni; former Minister of Culture, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed, Ambassador Iliya Damagua; former presidential candidate, Chief John Dara; members of the House of Representatives, Halliru Ilea and Salisu Ningi
Others were: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders from Osun State, Aremo Adekunle Alao and Chief Babatunde Ajala and Mr. Jonathan Asake of the Christian Information Network.
The dignitaries who arrived at the EFCC secretariat at about 4: 30p.m., encouraged the four detainees and prayed for them. They enjoined them to persevere that at the end, they would be vindicated.
The visitors were particularly elated that Mohammed, Abati, Fani-Kayode and Obanikoro were looking very well and strong.
Sources hinted that the former presidential aides were appreciative of the visits and urged the visitors to inform the rest of the world that they are very well and will soon be vindicated.
On Wednesday, a delegation of the Ahmed Makarfi-led faction of the PDP had visited the four who are answering corruption allegations.
The PDP delegation comprised the National Secretary, Ben Obi; National Publicity Secretary, Dayo Adeyeye; and the National Organising Secretary, Abdul Ningi, who arrived at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja at about 2:30p.m.
Just as the Useni delegation, the Makarfi-led delegation also encouraged the four detainees and expressed solidarity with them assuring them that the PDP family is solidly behind them, and urged them to keep their heads up high and remain strong.
Earlier, the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Revered Father Matthew Hassan Kukah, had visited the four suspects.
During his visit, Kukah, who was received the by the acting EFCC Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, felicitated with the inmates, and particularly commended the agency for keeping them is comfortable cells.
He prayed for them and urged them not to be depressed.
