An NGO Royal Impact Health Care Society has advocated for HIV test by couples before marriage in Kebbi State.

Speaking at the opening of a two-day training on sensitising pregnant women against infecting their babies with HIV virus, Dr. Kola Oduola said that, both male and female should be subjected to test before marriage because of HIV cases established in many communities across the state.

According to Oduola, the NGO in collaboration with the State Action Control on Aids (SACA), has embarked on massive sensitisation of the traditional and opinion leaders in the society to encourage their pregnant women to visit hospital for routine medical check and test on the HIV. According to him, the aim of the sensitisation was to prevent transmission of the virus to the children.
