PDP Launches Indigenous Twitter Handles

In a bid to break language barriers and to ensure deep penetration of its messages, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has launched new indigenous twitter accounts.

The twitter accounts are in four major language forms, Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa and Pigeon.
The party also warned members of the public to take note that it has closed  previous official twitter handle due to authorised messages on it and is now operating on a new  official twitter  handle @officialpdpnig.

In a statement issued yesterday by the PDP’s spokesman,  Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the party  also informed the public that the chairman of the Caretaker Committee,  Senator Ahmed Makarfi, does not operate any twitter handle or any social media platform.

Adeyeye said the decision to close the old twitter account  and to open one  is to address the issue of unauthorized statements being pushed out on behalf of the party.
“For effective control, our official Accounts remains,  @officialpdpnig;, Facebook account – “Official Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nigeria; and Email – news@pdppublicity.com.

“Notwithstanding the above, we are hereby further encouraging party members to always stand up for the PDP in their personal or groups’ capacities through any medium of their choice.

“We also wish to use this medium and Launch the following indigenous Twitter Handles with immediate effect. They are  Igbo    –  @pdpnhqigbonig, Yoruba    – @pdpnhqyorubanig,  Hausa  –  @pdpnhqhausanig and  Pidgeon  –    @pdpnhqpidginnig.

“We urge our members, supporters and the general public to continue following this platforms to maximize interactions on the way forward for the party as it is incumbent on the PDP as the main opposition in the country to rescue Nigerians from the scourge of recession, oppression, hunger, intimidation, autocracy, starvation, insecurity, economic induced suicides and mal-administration by the APC led federal and states government.

“Finally, we call on our members nationwide to unite and stay focus as one indivisible body in these unprecedented trying times in our party and nation’s history. Nigeria is ours, let’s work together to salvage her,” he said.
