Niger Assembly Introduce Palliatives to Cushion Economic Recession

The Niger State  house of assembly has said it would partner with the executive arm of government to introduce palliatives that would cushion the biting effect of the economic recession the people are going through. 

Speaker Ahmed Marafa who made this known in Minna on Friday while addressing members who just returned from recess did not however give details of the palliatives but said the assembly would soon pass a bill to that effect. 

“While we feel and share with you the pains of the moment, let me assure you that the assembly will continue to partner with the executive by passing legislations that will provide palliatives to the citizens in order to cushion the effect of the economic recession”, he said.

 Marafa however told the people of the state “to continue to pray for the speedy economic recovery of the country. Indeed there is light at the end of the tunnel as Nigerians will surely come out stronger and better for a more prosperous economy”.

The Speaker told all the committee’s saddled with responsibilities before the house went on recess to complete the assignments with dispatch so that ” we can dispose of the far reaching recommendations.” 

“Members, we need to deepen our commitment to legislative assignments in order to surpass the enviable records of our predecessors and this can only be achieved with determination and commitment to our duties”.

 On staff welfare Alhaji Marafa assured the assembly staff that the leadership was committed to the improvement their condition of service ” to enable you perform optimally in your various responsibilities”.
