Unknown Gunmen Murders Family of Six in Lagos

Pandemonium erupted at Agbose Street, off Oluose junction in Igbogbo area of Ikorodu, following the gruesome murder of a family of six, including their eight- month old baby, at the early hours of Thursday .

The deceased persons were identified as Celestine Nwokoye , a taxi driver at the Murtala Muhammed Airport , his wife , their three years old son, eight months old baby and two daughters were all wiped out in one fell swoop.

According to reports from eyewitness accounts, the family were shot dead although no one had initially known it emanated from.

The neighbours said it was only after the killers had gone that they knew the gravity of what had happened.

Although the father and his two children were already dead by the time help came, his wife and two kids were still alive but later died by the time they got to Ikorodu General Hospital.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer , Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent of Police, said the police already has a clue on the killers .

She said, “There was a report that one Celestine Nwokoye and members of his family were found in the pool of their own blood.

“The said Celestine and and his two male children aged about three years and eight months old respectively have been confirmed dead , while the mother and the two daughters who were seriously injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment.

“The incident occurred inside a church premises. The command is working assiduously to unravel the occurrence . We have some leads we are working on . We are optimistic of breaking through.”
