BBOG Set to Mark 900th Days of Chibok Girls Captivity

The #BringBackOurGirls Group (BBOG) has made public its intention to mark the 900th day of the Chibok girls in Boko Haram’s captivity with a press conference.

The group in a statement made available to the media weekend, hinted that a press conference scheduled for Friday, September 30, would be held to mark the 900th day of the Chibok girls’ abduction.

One of the leaders of the group, Aisha Yesufu, according to the statement, disclosed that the press conference is to cut across their demands as well as a formal response to the federal government’s press briefing held on September 16, 2016.

The statement read in part: “We hereby announce our decision to hold a world press conference on Friday, September 30, 2016 to mark the 900th day of the abduction of our #ChibokGirls.”

Stating further, she stressed: “Critical areas to be covered during the press conference include a chronicle of events and messages, our body of demands and a formal response to the federal government’s press briefing of Friday, September 16, 2016,

“I craved the indulgence and participation of the public as well as media personnel to commemorate the day with them as everyone is directly or indirectly involved.

In her words, “We call on all citizens and our friends in the media, from within Nigeria and across the world, to join us,” she appeals.
