Recession: AfDB President to Meet Buhari, Adeosun, Emiefele Monday

Barring any unforeseen circumstance, the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Mr. Akinwumi Adesina, will this Monday arrive Abuja for a three-day official visit to discuss how to stimulate Nigeria’s economic recovery.

Specifically, he will meet with President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun and the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emiefele, to find quick ways of strengthening the economy and creating jobs for the teeming unemployed youths.

A statement obtained from the bank’s website on Sunday said Adesina will be in Nigeria from Monday till Wednesday on his first official visit to the country since his appointment in 2015.

According to the statement, the AfDB president will meet government/policy-makers, the private sector and development partners to discuss the challenges facing Nigeria and highlight the AfDB’s commitment to further strengthen its partnership with Nigeria.
