PDP Hails  Appeal Court Ruling On Bayelsa Guber Election

The Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the Chairmanship of  Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi has commended the judgment of the Court of Appeal in respect of  on Thursday, upholding the victory of the PDP at the Bayelsa governorship election.

In a statement issued yesterday  by the PDP Spokesman, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the party said the judgement had re-affirmed the validity of the Election of  Hon. Dickson as duly elected by majority of Bayelsans

“On behalf of the National Caretaker Committee, the National Executive Committee (NEC), other organs and all Party members nationwide we warmly congratulates His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson and the people of Bayelsa State on the Victory of the PDP at the Appeal Court.

“The PDP commend the Judgment of the Court of Appeal on Thursday, September 22, 2016 which has once again  re-affirmed the validity of the Election of  Hon. Dickson as duly elected by majority of Bayelsans during the January 9, 2016 Governorship Election.

“This Judgment has again renewed our hope in the Judiciary as we urge the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to continue to remain unbiased in all elections in the Country.

“This Appeal Court Verdict has also affirmed that the PDP remains the only National Party in the Country which has being seeking to unify Nigeria and Nigerians irrespective of tribe, culture or religious differences.

“We thank the Bayelsa State Chapter of the PDP, other people of the State and well-meaning Nigerians for their support and solidarity within this period. The Party pledges to keep to its social contract with Bayelsans by implementing the manifesto of the Party and providing dividends of democracy,” it said.
