MultiChoice to Enrich Content with New Deal

Leading video entertainment and internet company, MultiChoice Africa, has signed a nine-year agreement with Eutelsat Communications, a France-based satellite operator to expand its DStv platform at Eutelsat’s 36° East video neighbourhood.

This new contract is believed to have strengthened   the longstanding relationship between the dealing companies and further anchor 36° East as a premier location for digital video entertainment services in Africa.

MultiChoice Africa Chief Executive Officer, Timi Jacobs expressed satisfaction in the arrangement, adding that the new business would step up the firm’s services.

“Thanks to the additional capacity booked with Eutelsat, we will be able to accelerate our services and live up to our brand promise of delivering a great customer experience through providing the best possible video entertainment service in Africa, marked by quality and choice. We look forward to strengthening our cooperation with our longstanding satellite partner”, Jacobs said.

Chief Commercial and Development Officer at Eutelsat, Michel Azibert stated that

“This contract further anchors our cluster of high-powered satellites at 36° East, as a point of reference for broadcasting in sub-Saharan Africa and our longstanding relationship with MultiChoice Africa, a video company that is a hallmark for quality and creativity.”
