Morocco Set to Strengthen Economic Ties with Nigeria

A plan to break the trade barriers between Morocco and sub-Saharan African countries, which include Nigeria, is underway.

The Co-president of Morocco Africa Business Club, a club that will be launched later this month, Kwame Senou said, a release that businessmen and women from sub-Saharan Africa which includes Nigeria are expected to break trade barriers under the club platform.

Senou said during the Throne Speech of 2014, His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morocco clearly expressed his willingness to strengthen the relationship between his country and the rest of Africa.

“In this spirit, the Moroccans and sub-Sahara Africanbusinessmen and women founded the Morocco Africa Business Club. The aim of this organisation is to facilitate the economic integration of Morocco in sub-Saharan Africa,” he said.

With its headquarters in Lomé, he said the club will provide detailed economic and financial information on African countries, promote business to business meetings.

He also said the club will also determine the level of cooperation among businessmen and women.
“It will help its members in the research or development of business opportunities and other activities enhancing cooperation between Morocco and the rest of Africa. The Morocco Africa Business Club will be launched during the second half of September in Casablanca, Morocco,” he said.
