In line with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) focus on health, Wapic Insurance Plc said it sponsored the production of the movie -93 Days – a media based initiative centered on the true-life story of the outbreak of the highly dreaded Ebola Virus and its eradication in Nigeria.
The Company is set to hold a private screening of the movie on September 9th, 2016 at the Genesis Deluxe Cinemas, Lekki.
A statement explained that the event, which is already generating interest, is expected to witness a high turnout of the cast of the movie, top celebrities, customers and staff of the company.
According to co-producer of the movie, Steve Gukas, “93 Days is a movie that celebrates the act of doing what is right, selfless service and making a difference in the world.”
“By associating with the movie production and screening, Wapic Insurance is making a bold statement about its values and virtues as well as its commitment to partnerships that promote social well-being and sustainability in health care. The event would also offer an opportunity for Wapic to appreciate its customers for their support towards the growth of the company,” it added.
The movie -93days -is said to be based on true events in relation to the sacrifices made by men and women who risked their lives to save Nigeria from the spread of the Ebola Virus and in honour of a hero Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh, who played a significant role to eradicate the virus. It is a story of how ordinary citizens through resilience and sacrifices gave their all to promote the common good.
