The management of SOFUNIX International College, Ota, Ogun State has commended the graduands of the school for their impressive performance at the recently released result of this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in which they recorded 98 per cent pass.
Also, the parents have pledged to continue supporting the management as a collective effort to execute all developmental projects aimed at moving the school forward.
Analysis of the WASSCE results showed that all the candidates passed English Language and Mathematics, while no candidate made less than seven credits.
In his reaction, the Chairman, Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Mr. Gbenga Badejo, said the result was consistent with the high standard associated with the school.
He said the school has always given priority to high academic standard without losing focus on the essence of co-curricular activities to have an all-embracing educational foundation.
The Proprietor, Mr. Sola Oni, who expressed satisfaction with the results, commended the students and urged them to be good ambassadors of the school at their respective tertiary institutions in the country and abroad.
“Our goal is to produce well-rounded students who can compete effectively at any level. There are three domains of education: affective, cognitive and psychomotor. Our curriculum has effectively addressed this and we operate a combination of Nigerian and British Curriculum to expose our students to the global world.
“Our management, staff and parents are pleased with the performance of our students at the recently released WASSCE. We shall continue to leverage on our quality human capital and conducive learning environment to sustain outstanding performance in all our examinations. A trend analysis of our results since inception is a consistent heartwarming performance.
Oni stressed that academics should also be backed by moral upbringing, saying, “hence we also place premium on character development as captured in our vision, mission and core values. Our determination is to ensure a strong educational foundation entrenched on sound academic standard and moral probity.”
He congratulated the students for the successful completion of their courses and commended the parents for their confidence in the school.
During the school’s graduation ceremony recently, many outstanding students won prizes ranging from cash to books and plaques.
Addressing the graduands, the Managing Director, Network Capital Limited, Mr. Oluropo Dada, advised them to be focused and have role models that can inspire them for greater achievements.
Dada, who was the special guest of honour, also admonished them to shun any act of indiscipline and take their studies seriously by not comparing themselves with anybody.
In his address, the guest speaker, Dr. Nicholas Okoye, who is the President of Anabel Group, underscored the essence of entrepreneurship spirit from a young age. He advised the students to take advantage of the school curriculum which places premium on entrepreneurship as a necessary foundation for a successful adult life.
Okoye congratulated the parents for enrolling their children in a school that is known for excellence and enjoined the teachers to strive harder to sustain the high standards.
The outgoing students were inducted into SOFUNIX Alumni Association, while the newly elected prefects for the college and primary school were sworn-in.
