APC Aspirant Promises Better Days for Media

James Sowole in Akure

Concerned by the deplorable condition of the Ondo State-owned media organisations, an All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the state, Dr Olusegun Abraham, at the weekend promised that his administration would make state radio and newspapers competitive among their peers.

Abraham made the promise while featuring on a live programme of a private radio station in Akure, Ondo State.

The aspirant, who donated a sum of N1m for the renovation of the guest chalet of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), said media practitioners in Nigeria need to work in a conducive environment like their peers in the developed world.

He said it was most unfortunate that journalists in Nigeria were working in a difficult environment despite what they contribute to the nation’s development.
