Buhari to Attend Chadian President’s Inauguration

President Muhammadu Buhari will today join other Heads of State and Government for the inauguration ceremony of President Idriss Deby Itno of Chad in N’Djamena. 

 Deby won the presidential electionsin his country in April.  

A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said Buhari would be accompanied on the one-day trip by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State and Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State. 

Adesina said the president’s delegation would also include Senator Baba Kaka Garba, Hon. Mohammed Tahir Monguno, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno (rtd).

The president will return to Abuja after the inauguration. 

Buhari has not embarked on international assignments since he returned from a medical trip to the United Kingdom.

His deputy, Professor Yemi Osinbajo had been doing the shuttle for international engagements.
