Nedcom Oaks, a private developer has advocated for a proactive synergy between the federal government and property developers in Nigeria, saying it would play a vital role in alleviating the problem of housing in Nigeria.

Mr. Kennedy Okonkwo, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Nedcom Oaks, a property development company operating within the Lekki-Ajah axis of Lagos State stated this yesterday during a meeting with stakeholders.

According to him, “this meeting is essentially to discuss way forward, appreciate and thank our friends and partner agents whom have been an integral part of our organisation; who have consistently supported and marketed our products.

The synergy between developers and federal, according to Okonkwo, was important because it would enable developers have access to some basic amenities. “We are in the business of design, build and sell; but we also have facility management company, which temporarily manages the facilities until we hand over to the subscribers, because we believe that the subscribers are the owners of the properties, so they determine if our facility management company would continue to manage on their behalf or they could well employ a third-party facility management company to manage their property.”

Okonkwo however, said: “We have done a couple of roads, provided electricity and other basic amnesties to ensure that our customers are well treated. We have also done a couple of projects in the past from the Kyrian Court, to the Dream Courts service that we have developed. We are presently on the Victoria Crest II which we are selling now and we provided essential amenities.
“We will be commissioning Victoria Crest I on August 6. What we will be commissioning is what we call our affordable housing scheme, which is not to say that we don’t build for different cadres. We build for the high earners and low earners. We have some of our Ikoyi service projects presently under construction, we also have some of our middle/high end at Lekki phase I. There are some at Ikate Elegushi, Chevy View and environs. So it all depends on what category of income level one falls into. If you can afford a thirty million naira property, we have Victoria Crest.

“If you have less than N30 million, we have a property for you after Ajah; if you have more than N30 million, we have properties in Agungi and Chevron and if you have up to N50 million, we have properties at Ikate. We also have properties in Lekki phase I; if you more t million naira, it all depends on what income level you fall into,” Okonkwo added.
