El-Rufai Condemns Attack on Communities

Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, has condemned the attack on Gida Biyu, Akwa’a and Angwan Anjo communities in Jema’a local government area of the state.

Armed gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen had on Monday invaded the three villages killing 11 people while several others were injured. 

El-Rufai said in a statement by his spokesman, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, that the killings were perpetrated by criminals and urged security agencies to fish them out to face justice. 

The statement added that a detachment of soldiers and policemen had been deployed to the area to ensure the security of lives and property.

The governor while expressing his condolences to the families of the victims said  relevant government officials had been directed to take over the treatment of all those who were wounded during the incident.

The statement    which commended security agencies for their prompt response in repelling the attackers, however,urged  that steps should be taken to improve intelligence gathering so as to deter attacks and prevent any outbreak of violence in any community.

 

“The Kaduna State Government condemns the murders that were perpetrated by criminal elements that attacked our communities in Gida Biyu, Akwa’a and Angwan Anjo in Jema’a Local Government Area. The Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, extends his condolence to the survivors and the families of the victims.

 

“The government has directed relevant officials to taken over the treatment of all those who were wounded. The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) is also mobilizing relief materials to the affected communities and persons, and will be taking an inventory of damage in the affected communities.
