Edo Govt Renovates 235 School in Central District

The Edo state Commissioner for Education, Gideon Obhakhan, has disclosed that since the emergence of comrade Adams Oshiomhole as governor of the state, a total of 235 schools had been renovated in the state central senatorial district.

Obhakhan who denied that the present government did not marginalized Esan people, contrary to what the People’s Democratic Party governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-lyamu comments, in an exclusive interview a section of the media in Benin City, also said that the state government had commence the construction of 7.5 road kilometer in Esanland, and appealed to Esan people to vote for Godwin Obaseki so that there would be continuity of government in Esan Central.

Assuring the people of the district that the APC candidate, Godwin Obaseki will not betray them if voted as governor to continue the development strides that comrade Oshiomhole had done in the state, the education commissioner equally denied that the ministry of education refused to give out public school to PDP for their campaign.

According to Obhakhan, “PDP did not follow the due process by applying to the ministry in writing that it wants to make use of the public school”.

Speaking on what the ministry has done in employing more teachers, he said the last set employment was the employment of 50 science teachers. The commissioner added that training and orientation were given to teachers to refresh them and make the teachers add value to their students.

On issue of non accredition of Tayo Akpata University of Education by PDP in their campaign, Gideon Obahakhan said the Edo state government is following due process to ensure every thing is in place for accreditation. He asserted that the first set of admission in the university will start September 2016.

“The facilities in the institution are enough to commence learning, the commissioner said, adding that the only area that needed finishing touch in the university is the building of additional hostels, assuring Edo people that the National Universities Commission has recognised the institution.
