Young Health Professionals from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COUTH) Amaku, Awka, have expressed willingness to partner wife of Ananbra State Governor, Mrs. EbelechukwuObiano’s pet Project, CAFE in providing free medical services to the indigent people in the society.

This they said would form part of their contribution in promoting humanitarian services in the state.

The health professionals who operate under the umbrella of Achievers Forum comprised medical doctors, pharmacists, nurses, laboratory scientists, administrative officers, ICT personnel and other health professionals in COUTH.

The president of the forum, Dr. Obinna Aniagbaoso, who led other members of his group on an interactive session with the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor On Youth Mobilisation, Hon. Tony Uche-Ezekwelu in his office, said they were motivated and inspired by what Governor Willie Obiano and his wife, Mrs. Ebelecchukwu are doing in the state especially in the area of human capital development and youth empowerment.

“This forum shares the same vision and goal with the wife of the governor’s Caring Family Enhancement Initiative’s (CAFE) programme of supporting and empowering women, youths and indigent members of the society and that is why we want to key in by providing free medicare to the poorest of the poor, especially in the hinterlands,” he said.

Hon. Uche-Ezekwelu who expressed gratitude to the visitors, said that such partnership, would no doubt, yield a positive result in the state.

“I am happy that our teaching hospital has young ones like you and I am not only encouraged but challenged in this partnership which I know will yield a positive result as you willingly decided to invest your time, talent and treasure in support of Osodieme’s initiative to Ndi Anambra.

“The greatest achievement of this administration is not even good road networks, flyovers and infrastructural developments across the breath and length of the state but involvement of youths in governance which has drastically reduced crimes and criminalities in the state.
“His Excellency, Chief (Dr.) Willie Obiano has more than 65 per cent of youths in his cabinet and that has proved that youths are not the leaders of tomorrow but leaders of today. This rare gesture is a challenge to every government in Nigeria,” he said.
