Below I’m attaching our recent press release on a Peace Movement that took place in New Delhi, India. About 150 individuals who are mainly youth and women attended the event to show their support for the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), written by 20 internationally-renowned law experts and was finally proclaimed on 14 March 2016. A signing campaign and a peace march were held where the attendees urged and supported for the end of wars.

– 150 Women and Youth and Two Schools in Participation
New Delhi, India – Even the scorching Sun of India could not hamper people eager for world peace. “A Marching Ceremony for the Cessation of Wars”,co-hosted by International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) and Apne Aap Women Worldwide-Indian Branch, took place at 10:30 on the 5th of July at MCD Primary School, Delhi. On the day’s event, 150 students from MCD Primary School and Goodwill Public School attended along with a number of women from Najafgarh, India. Especially influential social worker, Bindiya HIV/Aids related program organizer, who has reputations as active peace worker, attended the event to support peace movement.
This day’s event was hosted as an extension of the “3rd Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace”, which simultaneously was held in 52 national branches on the 25th of May. On the very day 500,000 people globally participated in the peace walks to urge and support for the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) aiming at the implementation of international law that is expected to cease all conflicts.
Beforehand of this day’s peace march in Delhi, Chairwoman Nam Hee Kim of IWPG delivered a short video message to congratulate. Chairwoman Kim stated “Signature campaigns in support of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War we are currently carrying out will bring forth a paramount change to humanity.” and added “Existing international law could not prevent any wars, but International law committee members, including former and current heads of state around the world, have acknowledged that it is only this Declaration that can guide the way and bring about the end of wars worldwide.” She also said “Our small actions can change the entire world. The biggest beneficiary of the cessation of war will be all mankind.”
MCD Primary School marked the beginning of peace march. Bindiya said “Women and Children who are regarded comparatively vulnerable, gathered for this peace campaign, and through it they were able to have right recognition of peace, and became interested in conflicts including the one in Pakistan and other countries. I hope that more schools and citizens of India can join this movement. ”
Opening Ceremonies of HWPL Peace Advocacy Committees took place in New Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai henceforth the Proclamation Ceremony of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) on 14 March 2016. The Signing Campaigns for DPCW have been actively taking place at various places including Modern School, Great Valley School, Samsara Global School, Noida International Collge, and other non mentioned schools. As the result, over 15,000 pledges were gathered in India alone.
“MAHATMA MK GANDHI PRIZE FOR NONVIOLENT PEACE”

Gyeonggi, South Korea – Mr. Man Hee Lee, Chairman of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) was honored with the “Mahatma Gandhi Prize for Non-Violent Peace” on Tuesday July 19th at the Peace Palace in Gyeonggi, Korea. Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patasani, Chairman of Mahatma M.K. Gandhi Foundation for Nonviolent Peace and Secretary-General Dr. Jyoti Mohapatra came to Korea for the prize award ceremony. Chairman Patasani is also a Parliament member of the 16th Lok Sabha (House of the People) of India.
Mahatma Gandhi Prize for Nonviolent Peace, officially registered as an international award on the Encyclopedia of Violence, Peace and Conflict, has had many renowned laureates including Jimmy Carter, Nelson Mandela, Margaret Thatcher, S D Sharma etc.
Along with Chairman Lee, Chairwoman Nam Hee Kim of the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) and Dr. Alexander Kim, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Sakha, Republic of the Russian Federation received the Gandhi Prize.
“The greatest peace prize is peace on Earth and this is the legacy that we should leave to our future generations. This will become the peace prize that will pave the way to the peaceful lives of humanity. I would like to accept this prize as a lesson that keeps me going for the work of peace,” said Chairman Lee during his acceptance speech.
Chairwoman Kim said, “Mahatma Gandhi was not only a leader of India but also a peace activist who awakened the whole world. I would like to extend my word of gratitude to the foundation named after him for bestowing this prestigious award. I would like to share my joy of receiving this meaningful award with the IWPG members and 3.6 billion women of the world. When the light of HWPL and the light of the Gandhi foundation meet, I believe that we will be able to overcome any obstacles before our goal.”
Two Chairpersons were recognized for their great contributions to the reconstruction of human society and world peace by spreading the noble spirits of “Non-Violence, Universal Brotherhood, Service, and Unity of all Religions & Excellence in the field of all related peace work.”
Chairman Patasani of Gandhi foundation gave a congratulatory message: “I would like to welcome the laureates to this ceremony, which is held to honor the laureates for their outstanding contributions in the field of peace work. On behalf of Mahatma M.K. Gandhi Foundation for Nonviolent Peace, I salute and honor the greatest peace lovers, Mr. Man Hee Lee and Ms. Nam Hee Kim, for their achievement following Gandhi’s philosophy and knowledge to promote world peace and development of humanity.”
As a preeminent leader of Indian nationalism in British-ruled India, Mahatma Gandhi inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. Chairman Lee and HWPL’s initiatives for peace have been comprehensively expanding Gandhi’s vision for nonviolence through peace law campaigns and alliance of religions meetings, thus bringing forth world peace and the cessation of war. The organization has pioneered various peace activities with IWPG and International Peace Youth Group (IPYG).
