30,112 Intending Hajj Pilgrims Approved for Max Air

About 30,112 intending pilgrims are to be airlifted to Saudi Arabia by Max Air from various states across the country for the 2016 Hajj.

The spokesman of the airline, Alhaji Ibrahim Dahiru, disclosed this to reporters at the weekend immediately after Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, with his Katsina State counterpart, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, and Alhaji Dahiru Mangal took delivery of a Boeing 747-400 series aircraft belonging to Max Air at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.

He said the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) allocated the number of intending pilgrims to the airline.

According to him, Max Air would airlift the intending pilgrims from nine states, including Kano, Jigawa, Katsina, Kaduna, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi Nasarawa and Benue.

The spokesman said the airline has three Boeing 747-400 series aircraft and is ready to commence the airlift of the intending pilgrims scheduled to begin in the first week of August.
Speaking also, Katsina Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, and his counterpart of Kano state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, expressed thier happiness with the arrival of the aircraft.
