Mimiko: Ondo Political Appointees’ Monthly Salaries Only N90m

Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, on Thursday disclosed that salaries of all political appointees in the state amounted to only N90 million per month, about 2.1 per cent of the monthly wage bill of the state.

Mimiko, who disclosed the figure in Akure, Ondo State, at a colloquium in honour of the Founder and Pioneer Chairman of the National Conscience Party (NCP), the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi, added that salaries of civil servants amounted to N3.9 billion.

The colloquium, held at the Ondo State International Event Centre, Dome and which also coincided with the National Congress of the party, had speakers including the pioneer National Secretary of the party, Pro Femi Aborisade, Prof Funmi Aborisade of the Department of Sociology, University of Ibadan and the NCP Presidential Candidate in the 2015 Election, Chief Martins Onovo and leaders and members of the Civil Society Organisations.
