The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council has described as false the allegation by Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) that former Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Peter Obi, threatened to kill Nnamdi Kanu, and further warned them not to drag the name of the former governor of Anambra state, Dr. Peter Obi, in the mud.

n a statement, the Chairman of the youth wing of the Ohanaeze Youth Council, Ebonyi state chapter, Mazi Alex Okemiri, noted that the former governor at no time threatened to kill the detained IPOB leader.

His words; “I was present at the occasion at Eke in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State during the reception for the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Ambassador Onyeama and Chief Osita Okechukwu respectively.

“And at no point did the former governor of Anambra state in the person of His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi threatened to kill Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who is now in prison custody nor did he(Peter Obi ) speak at the occasion, so I wonder where the group got the information”

“He has never been indicted of any corruption charges left alone threatening to kill a person like Nnamdi Kanu who is heavy guarded at prison by Nigeria security agencies, please for Christ sake this is not time for cheap political games.

“So I am using this opportunity to call on those peddling this rumour to repent and stop this tissue of lies, Ndigbo is one, and our prayers is that unity, peace and love shall abide in us always so that together we will drive our course together, essentially in 2019 elections”,
Okemiri explained.
