Rack Centre Appoints Udoaka Business Devt Director

Rack Centre, a colocation data centre provider has announced Mr. Frederick Udoaka as the new Business Development Director of the data centre.
Until his appointment, Udoaka worked with MTN Nigeria where he was the Chief Enterprise Business Officer for MTN Business. He brings over 25 years leadership in Information Technology (IT) delivery, sales and business development across an impressive range of blue chip multinationals in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Prior to joining MTN Nigeria, Udoaka was the Sales Director of Oracle Systems, West and Central Africa, Business Development Executive, IBM, Middle East and Africa, Country General Manager, IBM West Africa and Marketing Manager, IBM, UK and Ireland.  He also worked as a Business Systems Consultant at Shell Services International, UK and The Netherlands.

He studied at the University of Lagos Nigeria and London School of Economics, for his Bachelor and Master’s degree in Law, and he has a post graduate Diploma in Systems and Design Analysis from City University London. He takes over from Howard Pheby who continues to work for Rack Centre from UK as the company’s Business Development Associate.
Udoaka will be responsible for all aspects of Rack Centre’s Business Development, taking it to the next stage in its strategic growth.

According to Udiaka, “Central Bank is pushing the Bankers Committee Sponsored Shared Services programme where banks are required to migrate to tier lll design certified data centre facilities such as Rack Centre. The CBN’s objective is to reduce IT costs, improve availability of services to customer and eventually improve cost to income ratio for the banks.”

He further explained that enterprise and small businesses are battling with increasing costs associated with ICT and planning how to move their spend from capital expenditure (Capex) to operational expenditure (Opex) model.
