Edo Guber: PDM Party Adopt Ize-Iyamu

The leadership of one of the registered political parties in Nigeria, the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM), has endorsed the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, for the September 10 Edo State governorship election.

Speaking on behalf of the PDM on Saturday, the Edo State Chairman of the party, Comrade Nosa Omorodion, said that the party decided to endorse Pastor Ize-Iyamu as their candidate because he was the best person for the serious job of governing the state.

Describing the All Progressive Congress (APC) as a party that parades fake technocrats, Comrade Omorodion stated that the genuine technocrats were available in the PDM and that they were willing to provide their services at the appropriate time.

Omorodion also described the candidate of the APC, Mr Godwin Obaseki as ‘’an apprentice and not a technocrat’’, stating that Pastor Ize-Iyamu is ‘’an architect of development and exemplary leadership.’’

Responding, Ize-Iyamu commended the leadership of the PDM for their endorsement and assured them that the PDP would accommodate them in the campaign committees, and when the government is to be formed, they would be welcome to serve in the government.

The PDP candidate invited the PDM to attend the flag off of the gubernatorial campaigns this Monday at Baptist Convention Ground along TV Road, near Oliha Market, in Benin City.

Explaining why the PDP decided to use the Baptist Convention Ground and not the Ogbemudia Stadium as earlier announced, Ize-Iyamu stated that the party was denied the venue by Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, directing the management of the Ogbemudia Stadium to decline its request to use the stadium.

However, the PDP candidate noted that Oshiomhole’s opposition to the party use of the stadium became a blessing in disguise as the governor inadvertently pushed them to start the campaign in the “House of God”.

d for government agencies to show respect for the victims of insurgency as they have no other place other than Nigeria.

He called for amicable resolution of the matter through dialogue with the inhabitants of the Labour Camp.
