Almakura Expresses Confidence in Acting IGP

The Governor of Nassarawa State, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has expressed confidence in the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahm Idris, in his ability to surmount the current security challenges facing the country.

The disclosure was made to the media in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Donald Awunah, in Abuja.

Awunah said the governor also used the occasion to rejoice with Idris over his elevation to the Acting Inspector-General of Police.

He said: “Governor Tanko Almakura recalled the period the Inspector-General of Police served in Nasarawa State as the Command’s Commissioner, recounting how peace and orderliness pervaded the State as a result of his policing techniques.”

While expressing confidence in Idris, he added: “In spite of the present security challenges, IGP Idris is a square peg in a square hole that will surmount the current security challenges.”
