Plateau NDLEA Arrests 151 Suspected Traffickers with 1,316.009 kg of Drugs

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), in Plateau State said on Tuesday that it has arrested 151 suspected traffickers with 1,316.009 kilogrammes of drugs between January and June 2016.
State Commander of the NDLEA, Anthonia Ngozi Madubuike, said in an interactive session with journalists to mark the United Nations International Day Against Drug Abuse that the suspected traffickers were 140 males and 11 females.
She said drugs apprehended include 834.751 kilogrammes of cannabis sativa, 471.358 kilogrammes of psychotropic substances and 9.9 grammes of cocaine.
Madubuike, who said 65 persons have been charged with drug offences at the Federal High Court within the period, added that the agency has resolved to tackle drug-related problems in the state from the areas of demand and supply.
