The President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has recommend suspension for the centre referee of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Match Day 23 clash between MFM FC and Shooting Stars at the Agege Stadium.
The poor handling of the game by centre referee Alabi Abiodun caused angry fans to invade the pitch after Ebitimi scored for Shooting Stars in the 83rd minute.
The NFF President who was at the Agege Stadium to witness the match intervened to calm nerves.
“In my opinion, the referee killed the spirit of the game and I know what I’ll recommend to the committee,” Pinnick told Goal.com
“As the president of the NFF, my opinion must be taken very seriously because our aim is to develop the game. I’m going to recommend suspension for the referee. The fans are never justified for any form of hooliganism,” concludes Pinnick.
